FlowSheets is a free browser-based slide editor by AKP Labs — smart diagrams, keyframe animation, video and presenter mode, with no install or signup. This full manual is also searchable text on this page, so search engines and AI assistants can answer questions about FlowSheets directly from it.
Getting started
Click slides in the left panel to switch between them, or use the + button to add a new one from a template. Use File to save, open, or export. Click the Saved/Unsaved indicator next to the title to save your work in this browser — it only saves when you click it, so remember to click before closing the tab. Clearing browser data will remove that saved copy, so use File → Save as .flow for a portable backup you can reopen later or move to another device.
Insert tools
- Text (T) — click to place, double-click to edit, drag corner handles to resize
- Shapes (S) — rectangles, circles, stars, arrows and more, with fill, border and opacity controls
- Image — upload a file or paste a direct image URL; click an empty image placeholder to fill it
- Smart diagrams — mind map, process/flowchart, cycle, hierarchy, funnel, pyramid, matrix, Venn & timeline layouts, pre-wired with connectors and ready to relabel
- Connector — hover any object, drag from one of its 4 edge dots onto another object to wire them
- Pen — draw freehand; switch between pen, pencil, marker, highlighter, calligraphy, chalk, neon and watercolor, and adjust size/color in the toolbar
- Table — insert and edit a grid of cells directly on the slide
- Video — upload a file, or paste a YouTube, Vimeo or direct video URL
Smart diagrams & wires
Hover any shape or node and small dots appear on its edges — drag from a dot straight onto another object to wire them together. Wires stay attached and curve smoothly as you move nodes. Drag a wire's loose end onto empty space to float it, or onto another object to re-attach it. Pick Straight, Curved, or Elbow styles, and set color, thickness, and arrowhead from the toolbar.
Text & colors
Select text to change font, size, bold/italic, alignment, and text color from the toolbar. Shape fill, border color and border thickness appear when a shape is selected. Backgrounds (solid, gradient, or photo) live in the right-hand design panel.
Keyframe animation timeline
Select any object and open the Animate panel to give it a quick entrance style, or open the full keyframe timeline to animate position, size, rotation, color and opacity over time on a per-element track. Use Record mode to scrub the playhead and capture a pose at each point automatically, drag animation bars to retime them, and pick from 13+ built-in animation style presets or write custom code animation for full control. Node colors and slide backgrounds can also transition over time.
Video & chroma-key
Insert a video by file upload or by pasting a YouTube, Vimeo, or direct video URL. Once placed, use the format bar to toggle Autoplay, Loop and Mute. For a green-screen style clip, turn on chroma-key (the scissors/gear icon) to key out a background color live so whatever is behind it on the slide shows through — this only works on uploaded/URL video files, not embedded YouTube/Vimeo players. Fine-tune the key color, tolerance, feathering and decontamination from the adjust popover.
Present & export
Click Present for full-screen playback with slide transitions, keyframe animations, and a presenter HUD (use the H key to hide/show controls for your audience). Play as Video auto-advances slides on a timer you set per-slide. Export finished decks to PDF, PNG images, PowerPoint (.pptx), or a rendered video file from the File menu.
3D Studio
Import a .glb or .obj 3D model to place and render alongside your slides, with camera, lighting and grid controls.
Keyboard shortcuts
- T — Text tool S — Shape tool H — Hide controls while presenting
- Ctrl/Cmd + Z — Undo Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + Z — Redo
- Delete/Backspace — remove the selected object
- Arrow keys — nudge the selected object; hold Shift to move faster
🛟 Error helper — common problems & fixes
A video or image failed to insert. FlowSheets automatically retries once on its own. If it still fails, a toast appears with a one-tap Retry button — tap it to try again with the same file. This usually means the file is very large, still copying/downloading, or in a format your browser can't decode; try a smaller file, wait for downloads to finish, or convert it to MP4/JPG/PNG first.
A pasted video URL won't play. Direct video links must point straight at a video file or be a normal YouTube/Vimeo watch link — not a page that only contains a video player. If playback errors after inserting, you'll get a toast offering to pick a local file instead.
Nothing seems to save. FlowSheets does not autosave — click the Saved/Unsaved indicator next to the title whenever you want to save a copy to this browser's local storage. If storage is full or in private/incognito mode, that save can silently fail — use File → Save as .flow regularly as a safety net, especially before closing the tab.
Present mode won't go full-screen. Some browsers block full-screen requests unless triggered by a direct click, or need permission granted once per site — click the Present button again, or check your browser's site permissions.
A connector won't attach. Drag from one of the small dots that appear on a shape's edge on hover (not from the middle of the shape) directly onto the target object, then release.
Export is slow or stuck. Video export and large decks with many high-resolution images take longer — keep the tab active and avoid switching apps mid-export. If export doesn't complete after a few minutes, reduce image sizes or export fewer slides at once.
Something else looks broken. Try Undo (Ctrl/Cmd+Z). If you had clicked the save indicator before the issue happened, reloading will restore that last saved point. If a bug persists, email a short description below and, if you can, what you were doing right before it happened.
